TRAIL GUIDES
(Botany or Wildlife)
Pupose: To educate the public about the vegetation and wildlife that is, and may
be, present on The Outdoor Campus grounds.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Guiding nature tours of The Outdoor Campus hiking trails.
- Provide accurate information concerning vegetation or wildlife that may be present on
The Outdoor Campus grounds.
- Assisting those on the tour with identifying vegetation or wildlife.
- Supervising the tour group and the area to ensure safety.
- Calling 911 if an emergency situation occurs.
Requirements/Skills:
- Specific knowledge of the wildlife, or vegetation, on The Outdoor Campus grounds.
- Ability to use our library resources for additional reference/information (we have some
great reference books).
- Ability to enjoy working outside.
- Ability to lead a tour group.
Training Required:
- Volunteer Orientation
- Trail Tour information class
Time Commitment:
- Minimum of three trail tours a summer.
